Local volleyball players have earned post-season accolades from the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association (IHSVCA).
Players from both Western Boone and Zionsville earned Academic All-State recognition.
To earn academic all-state, players had to be seniors with a weighted GPA of at least 3.5. Players with a GPA between 3.5 and 3.74 earned Silver Awards, and players with GPAs 3.75 and higher earned Gold Awards.
For Western Boone, Olivia Cox, Raegan Durbin, Emma McClaine, Janie Ransom and Olivia Smith all earned Gold Awards.
For Zionsville, Claudia Antcliff, Lauren Brown and Leah Killinger all earned Gold honors, and Mya Cunningham earned Silver.
Both schools also had multiple players are all-district and all-state honors.
For Western Boone: Durbin, Sadie Poeck and Ransom all earned all-district honors for Class 2Aâs North Central District.
Durbin finished the season with 581 kills (fourth best in the state), 242 digs and 49 blocks. She also had 63 aces. Poeck had 341 kills, 269 digs and 52 blocks.
Ransom finished the year with 1,106 assists (fourth best in the state), 181 digs and 35 aces.
For Zionsville: juniors Josie Imes and Elli Strecker were both all-district honorees for Class 4Aâs North Central District.
Imes finished with 425 kills (34th best in the state), 323 digs and 47 aces.
Strecker had 329 kills, hitting at a .454 clip (sixth best in the state) and had 76 blocks on the season.
For their efforts, Durbin and Poeck (Class 2A) and Strecker (Class 4A) all earned first-team all-state honors.
Durbin was also named one of the five finalists for the Indiana Ms. Volleyball Award, which will be announced at the Indiana All-Star matches on Nov. 24.
